An electronic portfolio is a collection of work samples that can be used for reflection and assessment. It gives flexibility to the creator in showcasing their work in a multimedia format which enables them to include text, graphics, sound, animation, and presentations. Electronic portfolios presents work samples in an organized manner and is both searchable and transportable. They are useful for a variety of audiences and purposes. For example, a portfolio can be used as a resume in educational and career related opportunities. It can also be used to document and assess student outcome while observing progress. Electronic portfolios benefit the student, instructors, educational institution, and potential employers. As there is no correct way to design an electronic portfolio, it allows for creativity and flexibility in its presentation.
