Mike Menchaca,
Coordinator
Dr. Menchaca, assistant professor,
is in his second year teaching at UH. He previously taught
in and coordinated an online masters at Sacramento State
University. He was an IT specialist for many years both
in the public and private sector. His research interests
include online learning, social justice with technology,
and integrating technology into teaching and learning.
He enjoys reading, writing, baseball, music, golf, and
watching his son experience life.

Ariana Eichelberger,
Instructor
Ariana Eichelberger has an
M.Ed in Educational Technology from the University of
Hawaii at Manoa. She originally joined the ETEC Department
as Outreach Manager for the Learning Enhancement through
Innovation (LEI Aloha) technology integration project
in which she worked with faculty throughout the University
system to promote effective use of technology in the training
of future teachers. Ariana's areas of expertise are instructional
design, mentoring, and personnel training and management.

Curtis Ho, Professor
Curtis Ho is a professor in and former chair of the Educational
Technology department at UHM. He received his M.Ed. from
this department, his Ph.D. from Arizona State University,
and has been a UH faculty member for over 25 years teaching
courses in educational media research, interactive multimedia,
web-based instruction, distance education, video technology,
and computer-based education. Dr. Ho has taught in American
and Western Samoa and Saipan, and was a research fellow
at the Hyogo University of Teacher Education in Japan
during his 2006-07 sabbatical. He is currently project
director for a new $3.3 million US Department of Education
grant that begins in October 2007.

Ellen Hoffman,
Associate Professor
Ellen is an Associate Professor
in Educational Technology at UH. She is in her second
year teaching in Hawaii, coming from Eastern Michigan
University. Her academic interests are digital libraries,
distance learning, professional development for teachers,
technology policy and leadership, and research design.
Ellen has worked as a teacher from pre-school to college,
and served as a technology manager at the university level.
She also likes mysteries, science fiction, and genealogy.

Peter Leong,
Instructional Designer
Peter has recently completed his Ph.D. in Communication
and Information Sciences at UH Manoa. He has 5 years experience
in the development and delivery of online courses and
distance education and currently works as an instructional
designer for the College of Education where he assists
faculty to design courses for distance delivery. His research
interest include student satisfaction with online learning
environments, faculty support for technology integration,
and technologies for distance education.
